Headstage Lyrix Pro USB Headphone Amp
The Lyrix portable headphone amplifier is the affordable way
to bring the world of high end audio to your headphones and portable
audio player. The high supply voltage of 9V and the best rail-to-rail operational amplifier provide much better driving capacity than
any portable player alone. Use this amp to power all headphones
with impedance ratings of 16 to 350 ohms. Your ears will thank
you!
Bass
boost, Crossfeed, and Gain Adjustment Upgrades
The Lyrix is one of the most featured portable
amp available. It includes three front switches for bass boost,
crossfeed and gain adjustment. Use the bass boost to improve low
frequencies and thus making the music warmer. The crossfeed circuit
images external loudspeakers in front of you. It makes stereo
records with highly separated left/right channels more natural.
The gain switch allows you to adjust the internal gain of the
amplification circuit. Use low-gain with in-ear-monitors and high-gain with full size headphones like Sennheiser's HD650.
USB Connectivity
Furthermore, the Lyrix includes an USB DAC (digital to analog
converter). The DAC acts as an external sound card of your computer.
It installs itself without separate software. Just connect the
amp to your computer and enjoy your computer audio with much higher
quality than standard sound cards. A high quality voltage regulator makes it possible that you can even drive high impedance headphones just from the 5V USB port.

Battery Charging
The amp also includes smart battery charging technology. It will
charge all NiMH or Ni-CD batteries and will not overcharge them.
A controller circuit detects the charging status and stops charging
when the battery is fully loaded (the green LED on the front indicates
the charging status). This is far better than often used "trickle"
charging that can overcharge your battery and damage it. A 15V regulated adapter is included. We recommend you to purchase a 8.4V/260mAh
(or higher) NiMH rechargeable battery from your local electronics
store. The charging
feature is detachable if you use non-rechargeable batteries.
